HS Football Power Rankings Week 2 Powered By Polish Falcons

Two weeks are in the books in the high school football season and we're starting to learn a lot about some of the teams who are contenders and pretenders in the WPIAL and throughout the region.

Last week we had several storylines appear.

*Beaver Falls shocking upset loss to Beaver was an eye opener for fans, media and teams in Class 2A. How will they respond this week as they travel to Knoch?

*Bethel Park improved to 2-0 with a gritty win at defending 6A State Champion Mount Lebanon. Two questions here: Can Bethel Park show they're a 5A contender by giving 6A and overall #1 Central Catholic a slugfest? What do we make of Bob Palko's Devils--After losing such a battle-tested senior class, Lebo has come out the gate 0-2, albeit against two very good teams...How will they respond as the season gets into divisional play?

*How good is Westinghouse? They showed flashes last year but have come out the gate with spectacular results in their first two games, especially with their victory at Steel High last week. They step into City League play vs Perry on Friday. Can they go to Hersh---Erm---Cumberland Valley!(We're still getting used to this Quest For Cumberland thing, so bear with us!) and if so, can their big play offense undo Southern Columbia?

We'll get answers to these questions and more as the season pushes on. For now, here's the breakdown of this week's rankings!

This Friday, Three Rivers Broadcasting will present a LIVE double-header from Cupples Stadium. We go on the air at 3PM for the Non-Conference matchup between Uniontown and Carrick, set for a 3:30 kickoff. We’ll come back at 6:30 with pre-game for the Westinghouse-Perry game, the City League opener, scheduled for a 7PM kickoff.

Be sure to join us at approximately 10PM for the Friday Football Scoreboard Show, which will air LIVE on TRB, as we will whip around the region's football scoreboard and bring you our analysis of the results of the day!
