My name is Joey Wagner, and I am absolutely thrilled for the opportunity to work with Alex, Coach, and the rest of the Three Rivers Broadcasting Team!
I am a born and bred Pittsburgher as I have lived in the Steel City my entire life, and I have been a huge Pittsburgh sports fan since I was very young – Steelers since 9 years old, Pirates since 10 years old, and Penguins since 12 years old.
I went to Slippery Rock University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (Elementary Education) and Master’s degree (Reading Specialist) in education, which I love and have wanted to do since a child and am currently a substitute, but I also absolutely love sports and broadcasting them. As a broadcaster, nothing compares to the excitement, intensity, and rush of calling the BIG game! NOTHING!
I started doing play-by-play when I was 11 years old as it started with just myself and the TV on mute.
Over the years, I have expanded to having my camcorder, a laptop, and now I have my YouTube channel, which started in 2014, and it has grown to almost 10,000 subscribers! I got to thank the best fan bases in all of sports for that!
There are no better fans in the world than Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and Pitt fans! My content focuses mainly on the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I will cover and broadcast other major sporting events too.
My work has also been shown on KDKA-TV and on 93.7 The Fan, and I am eager to be a part of the team!
